Networking Your Way to the Top of the Job Field

October 5th, 2011 by admin

According to various business magazines, networking is vitally important in regards to landing a job at the top. Consider previous co-workers or CEO’s you used to be acquainted with. Contact them and reconnect. Find them online on various business networking websites and mention the job you are seeking. Be on the lookout for names and contact information of anyone that may be helpful.

Consider past professors. Faculty members generally know many business people at the top of sound, moneymaking organizations. Ask them to make a phone call on your behalf. Be prepared to be persistent, as no one is going to get this job for you. Make follow up phone calls and send thank-you emails. Thank them for speaking with you or thank them for planning to speak with you. Offer them your services. If you are skilled at public relations, offer to draw in an audience for the next companywide event. Showcase your skills and master your act.

Network your way to the top by going to local organizations in your town. Ask to speak to the CEO or manager of each one and leave an impact. Demonstrate why you are there and what you can do for the company.
